I've noticed this for a while now. Whenever we use double quotes, they disappear, although you can see them when you go into edit mode. This bug causes many peoples' responses to appear schizophrenic, lol.
'This sentence has single quotes around it.'
"This sentence has double quotes around it."
'"This one has single and double quotes around it."'
See what I mean?
Edited to say: there's some funny business going on here... lol. After editing the post, the double quotes have now appeared, making me look like I'm "delusional."
Edited to say, the above sentence was only true until I hit refresh. I look normal again.
Ok now I know what's happening. After you go to edit, do whatever you like, the display shows correctly with the double quotes. After hitting refresh, it goes back to just showing single quotes unless the doubles are inside the singles. Whew.
Jeremy, this would be a nice little task for a newbie programmer :)
This was brought up a few weeks ago, and if I remember correctly, Jeremy said the quotation marks were removed because they were causing some sort of problem with the site coding...something or other.
Anyway, it was intentional.
I have no idea what You are talking about... the quotation marks show up just Fine for me. In case you aren't sure... there are quotations around You and Fine .
Damn. This is becoming my own personal testing thread.
"this is another sentence inside double quotes."
I will not edit it.
miscegenymiser ...no there isn't...look again.
They show up while you type it out, but they're gone after you post.
LOL
