Why don't my teeth hurt like they are supposed to?

I got my braces off yesterday. I went back later on that day to pick up my retainers and my dentist said that I have to wear them all the time. She said that for the next couple of days my mouth would be in pain. I’ve also talked to some friends and they said the retainers were the most painful step towards a perfect smile. Well I’ve been wearing them since I got them yesterday and my mouth is in no pain at all. I feel like it’s supposed to be and I was just wondering if maybe there’s a problem or if I’m worrying over nothing. They are the clear plastic retainers, not the metal bar. It just doesn’t hurt at all. Anything to say?

I don’t that they are “supposed to hurt” haha, I got my braces off a while ago and I have the clear retainer and it didn’t hurt at all.

Hmmm. It’s different for everybody. =] I think that you should be overjoyed that it doesn’t hurt. ^^ Ahaha. But… Maybe it’s also because it was the clear retainer, and not the metal bar…?
