Why doesnt color take to some people's hair?

Is there a scientific reason for why color doesnt stay in some people’s hair?

I have blonde hair and even when it was bleached first and then dyed by a professional is still washed out. I used color gaurd shampoo and all that good stuff. I have a mohawk that is purple. Dark colors like purple and black are the only colors that stay in my hair along with bleach.

Why is that?

are you uing a permanent hairdye or semi permanent? also, shampoo not specialized for colour treated hair fades colour extreemly quickly the sun can also fade it as can washing it often red is the hardest colour to keep, and unatural hair colours also fade quickly

Well are you in the sun a lot? That can be why it fades. Usually purple fades a lot faster then other colors though, the lighter the blonde you put it in, usually the faster it fades, so be lucky for that.
