Why does my laptop take too long to shut down?

My laptop is new we dont know how to use it very well yet, but when we do use it and want to finish and shut down the computer it takes very long to close.

Instead of shutting the laptop down every time, you could put it in ‘hibernate’ mode which is quicker.

My Acer laptop used to take forever as well to shut down when I first purchased my lappie and thought it was be a Vista thing but ended up getting one of the IT guys at work to have a look at it..

Sorry, I’m not very bright with computers but from what my work colleague told me, whoever installed my Vista and other stuff on my laptop, set the ‘shut down’ mode to upgrade or install the Microsoft thingies whenever I clicked ‘shut down’ and the upgrades take you from 1 to 4 stages and you cannot turn the laptop off which is a pain in the butt!!!…

Please do not ask me how to undo this as I have no idea, hopefully someone on here can assist you..

ok… im pwnage at puters and my mate bought his missus pc round to mine 2day and left it here…(ill be working on it full force 2moz while waiting for city link)

she has vista 32bit and it takes like 4 minutes to boot and takes neally the same ammouint of time to shut down… im here to save the pc from from stupid boot times and that ;)
