Why does my bird bite me?

why is does our family bird only like my mom, but will bite me and my dad every chance he gets?? he is a senagel parrot

Answer #1

Have you been around the Bird often? Sometimes the Bird will bite because they really dont know you or your dad…and the brid might only trust your mom. I have the same problem with my Newest rabbit he only trusts me. and he is only a young thing. He might be only 6 months so be around it more often and you will be fine

Answer #2

Lol, my african gray is like that, maybe because your mum feeds and cleans the cage?

Also they sense fear… and they take advantage of it…

Oh w/ my quaker its the other way around it loves me but hates everyone around it…well what you could do is approach the bird but dont just reach for it with your hands it feels a sense of danger just put your hands behind your back and talk to it like “Hey birdy” Lolz I don’t know say something smile at it..but just dont reach out and grab the bird…and feed it and clean it it’ll feel more closer to u..give it some water

Maybe he thinks you are a big piece of bird seed…and he’s trying to eat you.

Answer #5

Most birds like one person in the family, they get really attached that way. I have owned lots of birds and almost all of them are that way.

Answer #6

I don’t know why it would even be nice to your mom, birds are one of the most unfriendly creatures, I hate birds
