Why does House have a limp?

Why does Dr. House have a limp/uses a cane I never found out, someone like to tell meee

Actually what happened was… He had cancer in his leg, And he had a choice to either remove the leg. Or remove just the cancer. But there was big chance that if he just got the cancer out, he would have to live in pain the rest of his life. So when he said he didn’t want his leg taken off.. His girlfriend he was dating at the time, had tried to go behind his back, and get the doctors to take it off.. Because she felt it was the better thing to do because she didn’t want him to have to live in pain. But he ended up getting just the cancer out, and now he walks with a cane, cause he is constantly hurting, and eventually got an addiction to Vicodin.

I believe it is because he has a blood clot in his leg which he didn’t want removed…

the muscle died in his leg and while he was in the hospital they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with his leg so his wife had them put him in a coma and she told them to cut the muscle out even though he didn’t want them to because if they cut the muscle out he might not have function of his leg, there was a chance that if they left it, it would have healed itself and his leg would have been fine, thats why he hates doctors and hates his wife
