why do people look down on teen moms?

Well, I guess that lots of people still follow along the guidelines of the bible, where it says that pre-marital sex is wrong, here’s what I’ve been learning at school- God created sex as a special sacrament to be fulfilled only between two married partners, with the intention to reproduce. To commit promiscurity, or to have sex before you’re married, is taking advantage of the gift to be able to reproduce that God gave us.

Ok, stepping away from the bible, many people beleive that teenage girls aren’t capable of looking after a baby and that its not fair to bring one into the world when you’re so young and might not to able to support it financially. Also, I don’t know about where you live but here in England there are so many teenage abortions- is is really right to freely have sex when it may result in killing an innocent baby? There’s also the trouble of teenage STIs through sex.

Personally I think that as long as the girl really does want her baby and is prepared to look after and love it then there is absolutely no problem. It’s just abortion that annoys me. Also, teenage dads should be treated just as equally. Teenage mums can be really brave and mature- I’m sure that most of their pregnancies wernt popular among family and friends, and yet if they still have the courage to go ahead and give birth, and give up normal teenage oppurtunites to look after the baby then they really are fantastic!
