Why do I weigh more?

I’ve been going to the gym almost every day at least 6 days a week for a month now and probably going for about 4 months a few times a week. I weighed myself today and I know the scale is accurate, and I’ve been eating in proportion, but it said I weigh 158lbs but last week I was 152lbs. My question is, why do I weigh more? When I got home from the gym today is when I weighed myself. I am confused.

Answer #1

your loosing fat and gaining muscle dont worry about gaining weight because you will look as though you have lost weight. you will be more tone becasue your gaining more muscle not fat

Answer #2

its because you gained muscle weight…which is a very good thing…so dont stress. your losing body fat but gaining muscle weight. congrats.haha

Answer #3

After a period of time of doing the same exercises, your body becomes used to it. When this happens, it takes a higher intensity to burn the same number of calories. Try switching up your exercises, and like bieberj said, drink water, and get enough sleep.

Answer #4

Don’t drink sugary or caffinated drinks. Also eat right and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!!! Get enough sleep too.

Answer #5

Well duhh question01 obviously a pound of muscle is the same as a pound of fat!! What people mean is 1 cm cubed of muscle would weigh more than 1 cm cubed of fat because it would be denser.

Answer #6

Muscle weighs more than fat, So your fat turned into muscle and made you gain a few pounds on the scales… but… muscle is more compact so it appears as you have lost weight and you look skinnier and will fit into smaller sizes.

Answer #7

So you gained six pounds…either the scale is wrong, OR your diet isn’t helping your weight loss goals.

If you drink coke or pepsi, that’s a lot of calories.

Also, fat loss only starts at 30 minutes of continuous exercise with an elevated heart rate…the first 30 minutes only burns glycogen. After 30 minutes, you’ll start to set in motion ATP and burn fat.

Answer #8

Yes, but I’ve been going on machines such as the arc and the tredmill and I have the settings on weight loss.. will that still make me gain muscle? I’m trying to burn fat, not gain muscle.

Answer #9

Muscle doesn’t weight more than fat a pound of muscle is the same as a pound of fat the only difference is that muscle is more compact the more you exercise the more muscle you get the more calories you burn. One pound of fat burns 3 calories and a pound of muscle 50 calories more a day. Don’t go by what the scale says go with the way your clothe fits you if it’s tighter then it’s probably fat if not then muscle. Try doing the Hydrostatic testing to be 100% on how much fat you have.

Answer #10

I don’t drink soda or sugary drinks.. sometimes orange juice for the vitamin C as an energy booster..

Answer #11
