Why do I get pimples when I use liquid foundation?

when I put liquid foundation all over my face I get pimples around my hairline & on my forehead.. but if I use powder foundations I dont get any pimples ( but I dont like that bc its not enough coverage) I have revlon colorstay foundation which breaks me out..marykay foundation, maybelline foundation, covergirl clean liquid foundation and its always the same outcome!!! so aggravating bc I am obsessed with makeup & I know a good base is so important but I’ve been lacking it bc I’d rather not have pimples because that look so disgusting.. so I’ve pretty much given up on liquid face makeups ): so sad. but I also wash my face every morning & night so its not like I have product buildup .. so I don’t know what the prob is. do you use any certain liquid foundations that dont break you? please tell me !! very much appreciated loves (:

Are the breakouts only on your hairline/forehead? If so then it may be from the oils that are secreated through your hair follicles. They get trapped under the liquid foundation and have no where to escape then form pimples. The reason this doesnt happen with your powder foundations is because the powder absorbs the oils that are secreated.

My recommendation: Prior to putting your liquid foundation on use rubbing alcohol along your hairline and anywhere else you break out then let it dry. Then apply an oil-free facial moisturizer (let it absorb into your skin) followed by your liquid foundation this will give your skin a barrier so that the oils can escape.

You can also use the rubbing alcohol to disinfect pimples that already exist (will burn a little) this kills bacteria and absorbs the oils.

Don’t want to deal with the burning from the alcohol? Hydogen Peroxide will also disinfect but wont dry out the blemishes or help with oil secretion.

Hope this helps!

it could be that liquid foundation is practicly suffocating >.< It can clog your pours and be a pain to get off.

I had the same problem before, but now I use cream-to-powder foundation. I works really good for coverage and even looks better than liquid. Get mine from Avon but that can get pricey (it’s 12$) so maybe try some cream foundations :D Hope I helped

your probably having some kind of allergic reaction to liquid foundation. I know you dont like it but I recommend you use powder. im not big on powder foundations either but Bare Minerals works very well for me.

Answer #5

do you sweat when you wear that makeup? are you cleaning for face not with just water & soup? are you allergic to anything in the foundations? there is a lot of healthy ways to prefent activity on your face? is your skin oily? cleaning your face is just as important.

there is an oil in your skin called “sebum” & your body may produce to much of it if your pores are clogged.

even if your makeup says “oil free” “noncomedogenic” or “won’t clog pores” doesn’t neccassary mean it will do so.

if you want more information… assskkk.
