Why do I always have this dream of somone I like on the past?

I have this someone I like since 8th grade(2nd yr hs), he was my classmate back then. He is really handsome but so childish, all he think about is OL games. A lot of girls liked him so much. Then when I was in 10th grade (4th yr hs) he started dating my best friend so I gave up on him but they broke up. After high school I dont have any contacts with him but I still like him a lot that is why I dont date because its useless, I cant like any other than him. Then we moved to another country just recently. We dont have any communications. Then I started to have lots of crush. But this past few days I’ve been dreaming of him quite a lot and I dont know why. I dont think of him anymore but he kept coming in my dream. I cant fully remember the dream but its like this: I was walking all by myself then he showed up and walked with me and I think he’s helping me carry something, he’s like being a gentle man. — and now it makes me think about him a lot. what does it mean? why am I dreaming of him? what is the interpretation of the dream?
