Why didn't human beings make much proggres until the last century?

Scientists say that The First Human Ancestor Walking on two is 6 Million Years Old. I don’t understand that all remarkable inventions were made in 20 centuries.According to proggress of human we should have lived in other planets. so why didn’t people make any proggress before this date? and how can this gap be explained in human history?

Answer #1

Your understanding of human history is a bit limited, I must say. Mathematics, literature, philosophy, medicine, architecture – all this and more goes back a hell of a lot farther than 2,000 years. Civilization didn’t start at year 1. The Egyptians and Mayans were tracking planets and predicting astronomical events 5,000 years before Christ.

Besides which, ‘human ancestor’ is not the same as ‘human.’ It takes a long, long time to get from an ape-like creature learning to stand on two legs to someone able to build a generator. It’s like saying your great-great-grandfather should have gotten around with the car you’re using today.

don’t forget man hasn’t always had such favourable climates, for example the last ice age only ended some 18000 years ago :)

Answer #3

its not that they didn’t make progress it is just they didn’t have much back then. everything technologically is built off of everything. everything builds up to something new. so if it wasn’t for them in the past we would be in the same situation as they were. they were like the stepping stone for us today to strive off what has been invented and created.
