Why am I having period cramps when I'm not near my period?

All day I’ve been having really horrible cramps that feel exactly like period pains - but I’m not expecting my period for another couple of weeks.

What else could cause such similar cramps? (Pregnancy isn’t an option)

Ovulation is your most fertile time during your 28-30 day menstrual cycle. It usually occurs 11-14 days after the first day of your last period. Some women cramp during this time. The cramping is the actual release of the ripe egg from your ovary.

Answer #8

You could be ovulating - I get nasty pains when I ovulate.

Or, maybe you’re developing an ovarian cyst.

If it gets worse, or persists, I’d see the doctor…better safe than sorry.

Answer #10

It’s probably because you’re ovalating. If things get worse, I’d recomend seeing your gynecologist. I do allot of ovalating before I start my period since I get sharp pains too.
