Who knows some confidence boosting games?

My cousin has like no confidence in her self! We are going skiing soon and me and my other cousin can’t stand it anymore! She’s to slow, and cries if we go ahead of her! It’s sooo hard for me and my other cousin to have fun with her because she doesn’t want to try anything knew and she won’t do anything to help herself improve! Are there any confidence boosting games, to help her gain cofidence? Thanks!!

P.S She is 9!

Not a quick fix. Depending on why she lacks confidence, is she scared, non athletic, horrible at school? Find out what she is confident about. So many children are thrown into athletics at school and confidence is never ever achieved but something after school, out of the box.

Martial arts are great for kids. Something physical and if you find a great teacher (not coach- there is a difference) she could have fun and learn something without even knowing it.

Work on her strengths for now, find out what she’s good at and have her move forward slowly.

Also let her know what the schedule will be when you go skiing so there are absolutely no surprises. Give her the itinerary so she can mentally prepare for each day. Be very specific, write it down so she has something tangible to look at. You’d be surprised how often Olympic level athletes to exactly this to help with their confidence. That way she knows that she will not be surprised and between now and then she can mentally prepare for what everyone else is going to do.

As far as games to boost confidence just find out what she’s already good at and move her forward. Chess, sewing, writing, could be anything. She’s also 9 so don’t expect too much but always encourage her no matter how far she goes and let her know that everyone is scared and it’s okay.
