Who else has caught this nasty stomach bug?

Well, I’ve been sick with a nasty stomach flu-type thing since FRIDAY and it’s already 2am on Wednesday. :(

I’ve spoken to a couple of friends who’ve said the same kind of bug is going around where they live! All over the country, come to think of it. They’re quite scattered.

I’ll spare you all of the gory details, but let’s just say I’m still up at 2am, working and running to the porcelain goddess for good ol’ fashioned tight hugs every 30 minutes or so.

I went to the doctor today and he basically said to wait it out, and stay hydrated. Which is impossible when every sip I drink comes right back up! :( Sorry if TMI, but well..if I have to deal with it, so do you!

So, who else has caught this nasty stomach bug?

Edit

5am now on Wednesday, and I think I’ve slept a total of 20 minutes, uninterrupted by the bathroom. Tomorrow (erm today?) is going to be a long day.

Awww, I haven’t caught it… yet anyway. I sure hope you feel better though!! And SOON!!!

Answer #2

Thanks, guys.

@Heaven, I wish I could eat anything out of the BRAT diet. I’m sure that would settle my stomach down. But unfortunately, after gastric bypass, my stomach can’t physically digest carbs (or anything over 6 grams of carbs and / or 6 grams of sugars)…which effectively eliminates bread, rice, applesauce AND toast!. It’s called “bypass” because my digestion now goes right from my esophagus to my lower intestine – skipping the upper intestine, which is what digests carbs / sugars.

PS- What “Doctor” came up with BRAT and haven’t they ever heard of redundancy?

Brian_kos is correcto…well, I had it. I don’t have it, but I feel your pain. I actually had to bring my laptop to the bathroom so that I could work because I literally sat on the ‘’porcelain goddess’’ for an entire morning without moving. It hurt too, not just like ‘’oh hey, Heaven has the craps’’…nooo. My doc said to stay hydrated, eat BRAT (bread, rice, applesauce, toast) and try to rest. Resting never happened, but I did bits and pieces of the rest. Mine lasted for a full 5 days, and then my husband caught it from me and I played nurse for a week while he somehow slept 20 hours a day - no exaggeration.

I wish you luck Dara!
