Why would a white person choose to go to an all-black college?

Answer #1

Would they be allowed to go if it was a all black college? And maybe they think they are black hahah JK

Answer #2

of couse they’d be allowed, but why would they personally want to go?

Answer #3

They may have grown up in a prodominatly black area, have mostly black friends, like the college itself and the programs it offers, want to be in a different environment and not choose a prodominatly white college, it was tbe only place they were accepted too, or it may be in their price range of colleges they could afford. Theres tons of reasons. Im a white woman and i went to almost entirely black school in elementary and and middle school…i didnt see the big deal and never had any problems with my skin color or being judged.

Answer #4

I dont know, it’s weird maybe they just feel like they fit in more? I dont know

Answer #5

maybe they feel more comftrobal there or are more intrested in the black culture

Answer #6

They may feel more welcomed there, or simply want to see things from other prespectives.

Answer #7

Meet people of another race???

Maybe that college has advantages that attract them???

Answer #8

Well.. why not? If a college offered exactly what I wanted, I’d go there regardless of whether or not people of my race would be there. It’s kind of the same thing as if someone of colour went to a relatively white school. I don’t see the big deal, personally.

Answer #9

I feel much more comfortable around black people, I was the first white girl to go to an all black high school

Answer #10

Id think the school would allow it inless there grade point average could possibly improve the schools curriculum point stuff XD

Answer #11

Well, who knows maybe they like hanging out with african american people. Or maybe like devyn said maybe they think they are a race that they aren’t. Which is not cool.

Answer #12

They could go BC they got a minority scholarship

Answer #13

a white friend of mine got an awesome scholarship to play softball at a predominantly black college, so that’s why she went.
