Where I havent had sex for 11 months will it hurt ?

Right I haven’t had sex in 11 months and im so scared to do it again…I know after 4 months or something it goes back to the original size e.g a virgin…will it hurt as much as my first time ? Please reply a.s.a.p xxx

The reason it is painful the first time is because there is a barrier that blocks entry into your vagina. It is called the hymen. In some women it is very thin and easily ruptured and there is little or no pain. In others it is thicker and more fibrous. And therefore more painful - in fact occasionally a doctor has to remove it surgically.

But once you have had penetrative sex (lost your virginity) the hymen is gone. It never comes back. So after 11 months it may be a little uncomfortable, but it will not be painful like the first time.

With one exception. If a woman is expecting pain and she is stressed about it, her vaginal muscles can go into a spasm preventing easy entry for sex. It is called vaginismus. This spasm makes entry painful, and so it becomes a cycle that happens automatically. It is not under conscious control. The best way to keep this from occurring is to have a patient, caring partner.
