Where can I buy a nurse shark?
Just got an aquarium and want exotic fish and stumbled across a interesting animal called the “nurse shark ‘and fell in love with this shark and need a lot of help on trying to find a location on where to buy it. I live in la. I cant help but wonder but can I buy one at an aquarium? Is it even possible to own a nurse shark? I’ve seen people online owning this magnificiant animal. I want one of my own! Please help. Would really appreciate it. Thakns!!!
First make sure it’s a saltwater - not a freshwater aquarium…and realize it’s a LOT more work and maintenance to own anything that lives in saltwater rather than freshwater.
If you have done the research on the shark already, you can ask some of the aquariums if they work with wholesalers in those parts of the world. Many aquariums can do special orders - but, they take up to a month or so to process, ship and clear customs as well as a lot of extra money, for both shipping and sourcing the fish (or in this case, shark).
