When I wear my glasses more will my eye sight get better?

Basicaly im short sighted and I need glasses, but my optician didnt tell me if I had to wear them permanent or just for when im at the back of class or watching tv. If I wear them for most of the time will they get better as I grow up or will they just get lazy and depend on my glasses? Please help becuase I look hidiouse in my glasses but if they will help in the future it would probably be worth itt :) x

I think you need to give them a chance. I know that I never liked myself in glasses, but other people liked me with them some without. You’re just not used to the new look, but in time, you may like it more. And when you’re ready for contacts, don’t be scared of them. You don’t even feel them. I never had a problem with them before.Sometimes they can roll back in your eye, but blink a couple times and it’ll come out, nothing more than that. I always wear my glasses at home, and only put contacts in when I’m leaving the house, so that way I don’t have to put my contacts in all the time, but only my family sees my in my glasses, and close friends, so I’m comfortable with them.

thankyou for all your answers lol, I have asked my optician she said she thinks my glasses look nice but I can tell shes lieing, im scared to wear contacts and dont suit any style of glasses,, :( x

no glasses improve you eyesight WHEN you wear them they dont change your eyesight and make it better as you grow up or get older in fact, over time your eyesight gets worse, everyones will if you dont like gasses consider wearing contacts

You may not like yourself in glasses, neither do I. Just wear them when you need to, until you’re ready for contacts. Your eyesight won’t improve from wearing glasses :/

Glasses are used to improve your eyesight not make them better.

If how the glasses look on you is a problem, glasses come in different styles, ask your optician if the glasses your have can come in a design to make them seem prettier to you.
