When 2 miscarriages/period late 6 days/ blood when I wipe?

My cycles have never been normal, even the january cycle was awkward, starting earlier than normal and lasting longer than usual. I have had 2 miscarriages, my last period was 01/08/10 and it is now 02/10/10. According to all of the “calendars” I’m 5-6 days late, and I’m only getting mucus-blood mixtures when I wipe, or light pink. Don’t want to jump the gun and spend $15 on an hpt, when I may need it for supplies a couple days later. Or I’m just afraid to see a negative result cause I’ve prayed so long for it… Maybe someone with medical insight or experience will be able to offer some advice. I don’t want to ask my mom (I’m 30, yes we’re very close) cause she’ll have a fit, and start buying stuff before we get a true posivite.
