What's the point of finger and toenails?

Answer #1

Try scratching without them ;) Fingernails are quite useful - scratching, gripping, peeling, etc., toenails - not so much, but it’s believed that the reason why we have them in the first place is due to evolution and that they were once far more useful than they are today.
