What do you know about braces?

Do they hurt? How do they look? What should you really avoide if you have them?

Answer #1

Ive never had them so i dont know if they hurt. I think their kind of cute idk

Answer #2

Neutral, if your teeth need fixed they need fixed, at least you’re getting them fixed rather than letting them be crooked as a jaybird.

Answer #3

i never had them either, but my boyfriend did and he said it wasn’t that bad. i completely condone them, i think their worth it because in the end you have a perfect smile to be confident about =)

Answer #4

They hurt for the first few days and then they’re fine, I think they’re adorable, and you should really avoid eating cabbage because chances are it’ll get stuck.

Answer #5

It hurt to chew when I first got them on. For a week, I only ate smoothies & other soft foods. The only other time mine hurt was whenever I had them tightened, but it’s really not that bad. They look fine. Just wait until they come off, it’ll all be worth it :)

Answer #6

Mmmm the pain isn’t that bad, when you get them on or when they tighten them every so often, it will throb for the first couple days each time, take Ibuprofen before each visit and then for the first couple days. You might just want to stick with soup and pudding also for those throbbing days. Really anything you eat will get stuck inbewteen your braces. When I ate I would pull apart pieces and place them in my mouth so I wouldn’t get my braces dirty, esp if I was out at places. Also when I got braces I got the ceramic braces where, they are white and clear, no metal. So people for the longest time didn’t even know I had braces. I know they are a bit more expensive though. Hope this helped :)

Hey, let me just start off by telling you I think they are adorable! (When i had them of course I didn’t think that). They hurt, at first and around the middle 3 months and the last 3 months. Avoid nuts!! Not peanuts, those are chewy, but the hard ones avoid them. The more brakets you break, the longer you hsve them on. So avoid hard food as much as you can. Avoid coffee if you can because it will stain the teeth bellow the metal and leave it yellow. Of course that is undoable but it’s just a tip. it’s deff worth it when you take them off. A little bit of pain for a lifetime of beautiful teeth :D.

Answer #8

They don’t hurt all that much. Usually they hurt the first few days, or even a week, for when you first get it done. Afterwards, when you get them tightened it hurts just a day or two after that. I don’t think they look bad, it’s cute on some people. As for things to avoid, avoid eating anything hard, I’ve had the brackets ripped off trying before.

Before you even get your braces on you are going to have to get your teeth whitened and then you will have to continue that every six months. I have braces which i got on last November, I got them on at 8 a.m. and it took about 2 hours. When you first get them on your teeth are going to feel so funny like you have something on your teeth. After you get your braces on you are going to watch this video about how to take care of your braces. I would pay attention if I was you because they tell you some very important stuff. After that you get this braces care baggie with different things to help care for your braces. Then in about 6-8 you will return to get your braces tighten, I don’t think that it hurts that bad.. I take an Advil before I go to my appointment to help reduce the pain. After your appointment you should only eat soft foods (frozen yogurt, ice cream, french fries, pasta, bread and mashed potatoes) The only foods that I would suggest that you avoid are Dots( the candy), chewy candies and corn on the cob. I chew gum, eat popcorn and everything else they say you can’t eat. I have only broken one bracket so far. I love having braces it makes me look different and in the end i will have straight teeth :)

Answer #10

Why do you have to get them whitened O.o I never did that

Answer #11

I know that they hurt! D:

Answer #12

Because when you braces come off if you don’t there is a chance that your teeth may not be white…. i guess its a way for them to make money $200 an appointment ): for 30 minutes of whitening
