What would happens when you take ex-lax?

Well im reading this book called perfect and a 13(I think) yr old girl is taking ex-lax and I dont really know what happens, I know it helps loose weight but why is so bad to take it young? And how does it help loose weight

13 is a great movie, also. Laxitives can kill you or seriously screw-up your colon. You’ll look sexy, all skinny with your colostomy bag. Gross.

Because you pretty much end up crapping out everything you eat before the fat can be absorbed. This also means a lot of the nutrients and vitamins you need to stay healthy are being crapped out as well.
