What to take with me on holiday ?

Hi, Tunisia is hot and dry. Sahara climate. Desert. Take sunblocker.

Then, please remember thet Tunisia is a mostly muslim country. If you want to stay at the hotel and the hotels beach, it absolutely doesn’t matter if you dress like summer at home.

Tunisians tend to be quite liberal and progressive compared with what you may have heard about other Nord-African countries. But still if you want to get to know the country, take clothes that the locals will consider appropriate.

As in:

• If you are female, cover your head. Doesn’t neccessarily need to be a muslim-style headscarf. An audrey-hepburn-style scarf floating loosely around your head will do. Or a cap or hat, maybe.
• Take a long skirt (girls) or pants (both girls and boys) that will completely cover your legs. Can be made of light material, so it doesn’t make you feel hot.
• Also take a shirt that does NOT have a plunging neckline (girls) and that has long sleeves. Can also be loose and light. (When in Tunisia, do as the Tunisians do…)

I also advise to read a travellers guide about local customs. :-)
