What Should I Make?

I’m planning a meal for six people. I’ve got starters planned and the main meal for four of us. But I need ideas for dessert and part of the other two main meals, before this Sunday. Two of my guests are vegetarian and I had planned stuffed pork roast with streaky bacon, boiled potatoes and vegetables. What vegetarian options go well with boiled potatoes and vegetables? And it would really help if I had ideas for dessert, but nothing too fancy. I don’t have enough cookery skills for cake baking, etcetera. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi everyone. I just want to let you all know that my family came round and loved my cooking! For starters, I made chicken soup for 2, vegetable soup for 2 and prawn cocktail for 4. For the main course I made both vegetable patties (for my vegetarian guests) and stuffed pork with bacon. This all went with boiled potatoes, vegetables and gravy (vegetarian AND non-vegetarian). Although almost everyone tried the patties too, because they kept saying they were delicious! Lastly, for dessert, I made apple crisp (which was more of a crumble, to be honest!) with cinnamon. I served it with both ice-cream and cream (the squirting kind!). My niece and nephew (who are normally very picky over their food) decided to give me a ten out of ten, so I’m guessing they’ll want me to cook for them all the time now! I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for giving me ideas. I’ll know to come here when I need more help! Thanks again. =o)

Perhaps google a legume dish (beans) like blackeyed peas or I know a lentil soup http://recipes.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Lentil_Soup_Recipe_1

As for dessert try a peach cobbler ( you can used canned peaches or apricots made with a simple syrup and then a sweet biscuit dough dabbed on top and bake) with vanilla ice cream or this one sounds good http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Peach-Cobbler-102277

Or sorbet (because it is non dairy–I think) with fruit

Or baked apples with vanilla ice cream http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-Apples/Detail.aspx

Why not try some tasty German desserts for a change.

Baked apples, apple and bread pudding, or try the most easiest cake recipe in the world. Versunkener Apfelkuechen.

I’ve thought about what I’m going to do. I’m going to try making vegetable patties with the boiled potatoes and vegetables for my vegetarian guests. Plus I found a nice apple and cinnamon crisp recipe, thanks to your help. I’ll let you all know how the meal went after Sunday. =o)

For dessert I suggest Apple Crisp - it’s simple to make and delicious.
