What should I do, I'm no longer interested in my college studies?

I am in a two year business school, going for computer science and programming. I’m in my third term, but I no longer want to be a programmer. I am more into having my own business creating crafts, writing a book, and do some art work. I wouldn’t mind just learning computer science and programming, but it just seems like a waste of money now. Should I quit now while its not as costly, or just finish it up and suck it up get a job in programming pay it off then go and do something else. The stress of the school is unbearable though and I am being very controlled by my parents who give me the rights to use their vehicular. I also have to put up with my selfish cousin giving me rides every other day, and give her a ride one day of the week. I would much rather do an online college, but if I were to transfer I’d want to do something with art, but I don’t see me making a lot of money doing art. If I do an online school though I can move out with my boyfriend and not get as stressed out being at home all the time. I was stuck home for about 16 years (homeschooling) and now it feels like a jail. Also I am paying for my education whether I transfer or stay. Currently have no money but my boyfriend and I are about to open an e-commerce store for my handmade crocheting and other crafts. Advice?

Should I stay In school?

Should I transfer to an online school for programming?

Should I transfer to an online school for art?

Should I just drop out and start my own business?

I think it would be a good idea to finish study. You dont have to get a job with it but at this point wouldnt it be more a waste of money to drop out and have nothing to show for the study that you have done? Atleast you will have a qualification to fall back on if you ever want to if you do keep going with it.

I agree with not dropping out of college if you’re almost done! Finish up, possibly try out a job in that field to see if it suits you, and if not, try something else. You have your whole life to decide on what you want to do. Definitely don’t give up on your dream, whatever it may be.

I’m not saying don’t follow your dreams, I’m saying don’t let your dreams ruin your life. If you end up successful enough to get by and then some, then opening up a craft store would be a good thing to do because you would have something to fall back on if the craft store fails. If you base your life on that as a primary source of income then you may end up screwed. I’m saying have something to catch you if you fall.

People actually do buy a lot of crafts. It’s not a waste, it cost hardly any money to open on, and people need hats, gloves, and gifts for people’s birthdays, baby showers, and ect. Unlike a gas station (which I am definitely not interested in) that cost a lot of money to even think about opening. I’m not even asking for a sh*t load of money. I just want a little something to get by. Thanks for trying to give me advice, but no offense this advice is kinda like “Don’t follow your dreams”. I’m really sorry if that sounds rude. Thanks for trying.

I do understand the don’t give up now part though thanks. Any others?

You have come this far and it would be completely idiotic to drop out. Finish up and get a good job. Who knows, you might become interested again. If you stay uninterested then after finishing up with this one then go into another course and get something you are interested in. If you do decide to drop out (please don’t) then get something that you know you will stay interested in and not just another temporary thing. Also a crafts store is a large waste of money because there just isn’t a market for it. I know it would be good if people were into paying for that kinda stuff but with the economy where it is, it just isn’t going to turn up good. A gas station would be a better investment then a crafts store. If ya want real money open up a McDonalds franchise.
