What is the tallest breed of dog in the world?

Hi I was walking home and this man was walking this huge dog it was a great dane,its head was upto my chest,honest!I’m 5,3’’ by the way!sooo you can imagine how tall it would be stood on two legs?are great danes the biggest dogs in the world?if not what dog bigger and what size does it grow too?

Great danes are tall but mastiffs are fuller when my mastiff stands on his hind legs he is taller then my dad my dad is 5foot8

The tallest dog in the world right now is a Great Dane (he is an anomolie, tho)… ‘in general’, however…the breed that is considered the largest dog in the world is the Irish Wolfhound.

Yesss! Definentlyyy, by far Greatiiies. (great Danes) Size wise, newfoundlands beat MOST dogs. But big Doesnt always mean bad, but then again it could. xD. Anywayyy, yah.

“Bigger” and “taller” are two different things.

Height wise, certified by the Guiness Book of World Records, the tallest dog living is Gibson, a Harlequin Great Dane, who measured 107 cm (42.2 in) tall on August 31 2004. Irish Wolfhounds come in a close second in terms of height.

In terms of weight, the breed Old English Mastiffs take the cake.
