What is the difference between lisp and prolog?

Answer #1

Lisp as a programming language is mainly considered to be useful for “ai” related applications, dealing with ambigious data sets, etc. It first was codified in 1958, making it the second oldest programming language :)

Prolog doesn’t have that distinction and would be considered a more “general purpose” programming language. The main area that prolog is aimed at is natural language processing, linguistics, etc, even though it also has uses in AI.
