What is a "rain check"?

A rain check is what people say when they cant help you but they say they will with something else theyd just say raincheck or when you help somebody and they cant help you theyll say rain check its like an I.O.U. (I owe you) but usually its sarcastic and means not gunna happen

If you have a ticket to say a baseball game, and it is raining on the day of the game and it’s canceled, you can get a rain check to come back when the game is rescheduled.

it’s like saying you’ll try to do something again at a later date..like if a friend and I wanted to go swimming but it was too cold so we couldn’t (s)he might say “let’s take a raincheck” and that means we would try to go swimming another day

When people buy a ticket to a baseball game, and the game is canceled due to rain, the people are given a “rain check” that they can use as a ticket when the canceled game is rescheduled.

Lol ; Its simple sugar .. “Take a rain check” means, “Never gunna happen” Its just another form of “when pigs fly”
