My father passed away 9 years ago, and now that I am older I would like to get a tattoo of a good quote to let him know I never forget about him.. I have something but I need more ideas... "I never really lost you, where love exists there can be no loss!"
Memorial tattoos are some of the most beautiful and special tattoos anyone could have. A quote is a great idea. Anything that rings true to you or had a special meaning to your father is a good place to start.
You could put 'If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden' (Claudia Ghandi http://www.quotegarden.com/miss-you.html ) wrapping around a bouquet of forget-me-not flowers.
Another one I like (from the same page) is:
Your absence has gone through me Like thread through a needle Everything I do is stitched with its color. ~W.S. Merwin, "Separation"
Maybe those words in a lettering style that looks like it was 'stitched' or 'sewn' onto your skin. Whatever you decide, get an idea of what you want and then rely on the skill of a trusted reputable tattoo artist to bring your idea to life. Good luck!!
Well if he died of a disease you could always get the awareness ribbon for whichever disease it was, thats what im going to do for my uncle who died of cancer Also, you could just get a quote of something he used to say alot
what you say is beautiful enough I thought "though ice melt you are not forgotten though fire burn you are borne in mind"
The sheer bluntness of the truthpill hurts, 6 feet under, filled up with love not dirt.
that is a good idea but they hurt just so you know
