What if start taking the pill before my period starts?

It is known the first Pill has to be taken on the first day of period, but I want to start earlier, so I am protected when I go on holiday with my boyfriend. I had my last period 14 days ago, is it harmful for my body if I start taking the pill NOW? I know it is not ideal…but I can do it,can’t I?

Answer #1

You need to consult with your doctor.

Answer #2

They wouldn’t tell you to start taking it on Day 1 of your period if it’s okay to start taking it two weeks after your period. You would mess up your cycle by doing that. And, like jazlovestoskate said, you need to have been on the pill for a full month before it’s effective.

I’ve been on the pill for almost seven years, and I still always use condoms too because I DO NOT want a baby any time soon.

Answer #3

you can take it? I think so see a doctor to fnd out if it will work though but will you be protected? NO you need to be taking the pill daly and properly for at least 1 month before it becomes affective, so if your going to have sex within the month, you will NOT be protected against pregnancy and need to be using condoms
