Do you understand this poem?

I found this poem in my room, dated a year ago. I know I wrote it, because it’s my handwriting. Thing is, I dont know what I was on about in the poem. (Yes I do have a bad memory…) Here It Is

I followed him, he tossed me away I stumbled away, dont ask why It took me awhile, in my demise To realise, mirrors cannot tell lies Remember when life made sense?

(remember when POETRY used to make sense?)

Answer #1

probably. this just makes me wish I had either a) a good memory or b) a better attention span. or better yet c) the ability to stop having an obsession with sparkley things

sigh

Answer #2

Hm. Maybe: Someone treated you poorly, and you discontinued the friendship/ relationship. It was a long story, but in the end you realized that everything is confusing but maybe the answer is right in front of you. … that’s what it sounds like to me! It’s pretty good though, whatever it means.

Answer #3

ok I dont get it at all =)

Answer #4

ok

so “ I followed him, he tossed me away

am guessing you was chasing after a guy and he just blew you off like you was a piece of paper or something

“ I stumbled away, don’t ask why”

am guessing you walk away feeling bad like you wasn’t able to stand up and you didn’t know why you felt that why

“it took me awhile. in my demise to realise, mirrors cannot tell lies”

this a hard one when you was really down you figured out that the girl in the mirror ( you) would not lie to you and will always lead you in the right way

“Remember when life made sense?”

am guessing this is where you trying to remember what life was like before all that happen

:) a good poem

Answer #5

To me it just seems like you loved someone, he broke up with you, you left without asking questions, and then either you realized your pain or you saw within yourself the reason that he left you. The last sentence leads me to believe that you saw your own pain and remained confused about the breakup in the end. This is all just a guess, but that’s my interpretation :)

Answer #6

Perhaps someone betrayed you and it made you feel unlike yourself?

Answer #7

better interpretations than mine :)
