Who won a defamation suit against the National Enquirer?

What entertainer won a defamation suit against the National Enquire

Answer #1

Well, since I have a Print Journalism degree, I’ll tell you what I learned in my History of Journalism classes :)

The BIG defamation case against the Enquirer was Carol Burnett’s in 1974 (I think, may want to double-check the date). The newspaper falsely reported that Burnett had gotten into a nasty argument with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in a restaurant in Washington. A jury in Los Angeles eventually awarded Burnett $1.6 million.

Also, more current winners of cases against the tabloid include: Matt leBlanc, Ashley Olson and Derek Jeter.

Answer #2

I think several have over the years.
