How do we know what colours taste like?

ma sis need an answer for this question

you know oranges are orange and all that

so how do we now wot colours tast like?

Answer #1

..colors are perceived with your EYES, not your mouth. In order for you to actually taste color, you’d need to either be trippin’ on ACID, or you’d need to have some form of synesthesia. If its the latter, then its extremely rare, and unique to the individual.

Answer #2

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_(colour)

Colors do not have a taste. Colors may get named after something (ie fruit), but that is the only relation to it.

Answer #3

It’s what your senses associate your pallette memory with in that color. At least I think it’s that. For instance, I associate yellow with tart/sharp taste…because I think of lemons. The same may not hold true for the person who asociates yellow with yellow squash. Same with fruits and veggies. I assume all fruits are basically sweet/tart…veggies, more bland…mentally I prepare to sense those tastes…. however, the first time I ate an avocado it through me for a loop…not what I was expecting. IDK. Maybe the best person to answer this question would be someone who’s been blind.
