Answer #2

Codec’s are what is used to compress (then decompress and read) the movie (raw move data is like 1GB for every 5min). You can either get something like K-Lite Codec pack that has just about every codec known to man, and then some. Or get VLC media player that has the codec’s built and and will play it.

Both are free.
Get VLC here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and K-Like Codec Pack here: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm (would recommend standard or full edition - I always used full b/c I re-encode videos)

personally I prefer VLC b/c it takes up less space and will play EVERYTHING without installing all those codecs. Also will play DVD’s nicely, and ripped DVD’s. Only files I have ever come across it will not play are real player files, but almost no one uses them.

No such thin will happen when you have VLC or K-lite Mega codec pack installed on your system. It’s simply a Trojan video that contain scripts which can be executed by WMP only.
