What do you say when someone says "sorry" ?
I recently lost a pet and someone called to say they were sorry. I found myself at a loss for words, so I blurted out “its ok”. I feel dumb cause I dont know what to say! Anyone?
I also was in the same situation. Got in an accident today and my teacher said “I’m sorry to hear that” and I, in total loss of words, said, “thanks”…I felt really stupid saying it like that too lol.
I’ll try “it’s ok, thanks…” next time.
“Oh, no it’s fine. But, thanks.” “Thanks.” “Hey, it’s okay. No worries. “ “Yeah, thanks.”
Here are a few ideas of what you can say:
“It’s okay” “It wasn’t your fault” “No, I’m sorry” “I understand; it’s alright” “I know” :P “Hey, it’s fine”
I’d say, I have to go now
“thank you”
Say “Thank you, I appreciate your thoughts.”
I say the same thing actually.. or different variations of it (it’s fine, it’s alright), or when they apologize, I usually say “it’s not your fault.”
