or what are you right now? what is your job? what is your life? … I want to be a counsellor;..does anyone know how much collage you need for to be a counsellor?

I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and I kinda still don’t know. Right now I work overnight logistics in a backroom/warehouse at a target. It pretty fun and the pay is better than people expect it to be. I went to UCLA and UCSB, both great schools, but I just didn’t what to do for the rest of my life so I took a break. The way I see it, you hv plenty of time to find your niche in the world. It’s really good that you have a goal to work towards though! Go to a counselor they have all the answers you need, they’ll tell you what classes to take.

I’m doing a masters in counseling right now… I do want to get a doctorate in clinical psychology…

to answer your how long does it take to become a counselor, there’s several paths you can take…

Bachelors (psychology is generally the most useful major, but not mandatory, you can do any major really) - 4 years +

masters in counseling - 2 years full time
phd in psychology - 5 years
phd in counseling - 5 years
psyd (doctor of psychology) - 5 years
psychiatry - 4 years of med school, 4 years of residency (I think 1 more year specialzing)

I went to college to to be an x-ray techinicion, I never pursued a job though after finishing college. I’m a stay-at-home mom right now. I take care of my son and my fiance 24-7. It’s harder than people think. I’ve been a secretary, cake decorater, bartender, shotgirl, piercing/tattoo deskgirl, waitress, deejay, photographers assistant, and nightclub manager.

Whenever my son get’s a little bit older, I would love to get back into cake decorating. I miss being creative.
