What do singing lessons consist of?
I’m not a very good singer, but I love to sing! I was wondering what sort of skills do you learn in a singing lesson, and don’t say something like ‘’you learn how to sing’’, because that…is just being a smartarse :| Anyway, I was thinking about taking up singing lessons! I’d love to be able to sing in a musical (an amatuer one of course), since I absolutely adore them : ) If you take singing classes yourself or just have general knowledge about it, could you please tell me what sort of things you learn? Thanks in advance.
You start out with doing different exercises so your instructor can gauge what you need the most help with.
Breathing exercises, pitch exercises, chest voice/head voice differences, music theory(reading music), pronunciation and even adding “feeling” to songs.
It really depends on what level your instructor themselves is at and what they focus on.
