What, do layers really help give hair more volume?

I have very long thick straight hair and it gets flat real easily at my roots. I’ve always wished that my hair would get more volume naturally and I heard that getting layers help. Is that true? I used to have layers a while ago but then I decided to get rid of them. Now I’m thinking about going back to them maybe if it means more volume at my hair’s roots. It would be nice for my hair to not be so flat for once. So do layers work?

yep they do XD they worked for me !! its less weight ya see x

yes they can help so can backcombing/teasing hair (aka knotting it up) and volume spray/mouse

Layers do help. Don’t get them cut to short or it will look like you have a mullet. Also for volume - If you straighten your hair only straighten the outter hair and not the inner hair (if that makes any sence to you)
