What do I do next with this new guy?

so, I did what I thaught was best, I broke up with the guy I was with, (the one from the last question) he treated me like crap,he really did, and even tho he said he had changed after cheating, he hadnt, so I broke up with him, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I stuck with it, and that was on tuesday, and now he keeps textin, with poems, and tellin me how amazing I am, and how much he loves me, and when I see a picture of him, or his name pop up on my phone, im happy, now im confused, I was sure this was what I wanted, but I dont know, I really actully miss him, and I believe him when he says he will change, which I no that it is a lie. im just so confused, I feel like I still want to be with him, but at the same time I dont, should I get back with him, and give him another chance, or do I feel sorry for him, and just be mates with him ? </3 x

You only miss him right now because you are lonely. If he truly did not treat you right, whether he changes or not it’s not going to last, but long enough to keep you around. Once he knows he has got you back he will revert back to his old ways. I think you should stick with the break up at least for 2-3 months. Have you ever heard of the 90 day break up rule? No contact, no pictures, no social site watching, no nothing with the ex for 90 days and then after that see how you feel and you may realize you are yourself again and want to continue being single. Naturally you are going to miss him because you dated for a while and you were use to having him around etc.. but you don’t HAVE to settle for anyone or anything and be unhappy if you don’t WANT to…I think deep down you know what is right though.
