What do I do about this dog?

Ok, well today I found this Beagle, And He was really nice and everything, But he was LOST. He had a tag, and looked pretty healthy. Then he ran away from us and ran to our neighbor’s house. And they said they probaly are going to take him to the pound, But I really didn’t want him to go to the pound. I was hoping we could watch him or something, But my mom said no. And anyway if we would have done that, Then I don’t know what we would have done about his owners. I don’t know where he’s at right now, But he’s either at my neighbor’s house or at the pound. I feel so bad for the little guy. I don’t know what to do! I never really thought about getting a beagle but I kind of want him now. Please help.

p74e that’s why I’m worried! I don’t want him to be euthinaised because nobody claims him. D: I just wish my mom would of let us keep him. I think my neighbor’s already took him to the pound. D: Awww, It really sucks for him. I wish I could help him in some way. And I DON’T even know which pound they took him too. We have a lot of pounds here. AWWWIEE. Now I’m getting scared for him.

appetite4destruction is right, if he has a family that is missing him, the pound will be the easyist way to find him, but if the family does not claim him in a certain amount of time he may go on death row :(

He could have been traced by the tag #. Also there is a chance he might have been microchipped. The ‘shelter’ will have or at least should have the device to check on a microchip.

If he goes to the pound, it will probably be the easiest way for the owners to find him.
