I have a one year old and some times she calls me by my name her dad dosent even call by my name what can I do to stop her
Please help
Start reffering to yourself as mommy. "Hi hunny mommy loves you, you're momma's little girl." Als try to get other people to refer to you as mommy when talking to her. "Where is your mommy? How is your mommy feeling today?"
I personally can't imagine calling my mother by her name. I did once and she asked me if I didn't want her to be my mommy anymore. So it's set in stone now.
She's 1. She doesnt know better. It doesnt mean anything to her. Words dont actually mean much. They just provide responses. Stop responding to her when she calls you by your name and she'll stop calling you that. When she calls you mommy then you respond. Also try and have her father and grandparents call you mommy.
=( thats going to take a while, little kids get used to calling you things. Try to tell her to call you mommy, or mom. Don't ever put your name in when your talking to her! always just use mom or mommy or what ever it is you want her to call you =)
I use to my mom by name when I was little because I heard everyone else calling her that. have everyone that's around you call you mom or mommy like family members when shes with you. it might help a little.
hope I helped :]
Wow thats really hard! My lil sis never called my mom by her name, and come to think of it I don't, nonetheless persist on telling her to call you mommy and never once let your name fly out of your mouth when she is around.
I have tried telling her to call me mummy.she never use to call me by my name but now my mum and dad have moved in she calls me by my name
You might try the 'treat trick' - show it to her but only give it to her (immediately) when she says 'Mom'...won't take long, LOL
It's just a phase. She'll grow out of it.
