you seem to be rebelling against something and really trying to show it. well, evidently your grandma got the point.if your a christian, why no church , why all the non christian music? lets just say you was to go to a football game and say your a fan of a certain team. you show up with the other team colors on, cheering the other team on and boooing when your “favorite team” does somthing good. who is your team? just do some reading of the “playbook” aka. the bible. get over in the new testament, like galatians, ephesians, philippians, colossians, romans. try those and see what ya think. and water baptism doesnt save you , the blood of the Lord does colossians 1:14 .He has saved us so we can serve Him not ourselvescolossians 1:10-13 . I know you can stand, find a good bible believing church that will help you and I know you can do it . :0) we’ll pray for ya. try reading colossians first.

Just tell her that you love God & you love this kind of music. Tell her its not the words you love its just the beat. Maybe you should try going to church, you could even take her with you . I do believe in God, and I am baptized . Hope this helps (: God bless you!

Answer #5

Answer #6

looking at your problem makes me laugh, but I’m sure you don’t see it that way! obviously you aren’t the devil, I just think sometimes it’s hard for old people to accept the changes happening today (in your case, the clothes, music etc) don’t worry about it, I’m sure she’ll come round.. & if she doesn’t play along with it and give her some entertainment (:

Answer #7

you already beleive in god, thats enough god doesnt care about what kind of music you listen to ohnestly, (I dont beleive in any gods) but if there was a god, why would he condem you to hell for the music you listen to? you already beleive in the same god your grandma does, she should open her eyes and accept that the music hasnt made you do bad things, I assume your not out practicing witchcraft, trying to conjure up demons and killing people because of motley crue right, its just the music you like to listen to your grandma would have a ceftain style of music she likes and doesnt like, everyone does but music doesnt affect religion it can talk about it, but it doesnt chnage the fact that you beleive in whatever it is you beleive in

Answer #8

all grandmas are crazy and critisize bout everythin

Answer #9

learn about physics and drop religion. there cant physically or logically be a god. just my opinion.

There comes a point when people are just old and don’t understand modern pop-culture and/or can’t come to grips with anything but what they’ve always known and grew up being taught. My grandparents are the same way, very religious, very traditional. I only hinted that I wasn’t sure about God and she said that I’d be going to hell then. I chose to say, “Ok.” and she sighed and said, “Well then I’m praying for you.”

And since then, I just don’t talk about my spiritual beliefs with her or any of my grandparents. It’s like trying to explain the internet to them… they are doing fine without it, and they will keep doing fine until they die, so why bother making it an issue.

I have chosen to be respectful of their way of life and dress and speak appropriately when with them. Personally, I find that eliminates any possible conflict, and while innerly I chuckle at their absurd traditionalism, I stay polite and respectful of my elders.

My advice would be to do the same. I assume you don’t spend all of your time with your Grandma, so you have plenty of time to listen to your preferred music when you’re not with her. This doesn’t mean you’re denying who you are and what you like, it’s just being ‘respectful.’ Call it an act of goodwill towards your elder, without whom you would not exist.

As to some of the other responses you’ve received… -If you don’t want to take my route, then I agree with bellaboo and jazlovestoskate that you should just tell her you do love God and you do also love this type of music. Does she think watching Wizard of Oz is sinful because it happens to have witches in it? It’s just a fun movie. Well that song you like is just a fun song, regardless of the lyrics. -Don’t let people like truebeliever there bully you into feeling like you’re a bad person or a bad Christian. Everyone’s faith is different, and personal, and that’s the way it should be. He/she is making a LOT of assumptions about you and only sees you as a lost, hurt lamb who needs to be led back to ‘the path of righteousness.’ He’s not offering advice to your questions/situation, he’s drawing his/her own conclusions, and just typing to read his own words. –Sorry if that sounds mean-spirited, I just can’t stand seeing people be preachy, especially when that wasn’t even a response to your question.

Hope this helps. Take care, and feel free to funmail me if you want.

Answer #11

Well if you believe in Jesus then you believe that Jesus died for your sins.

Those songs that you listen to glorifying sex, drugs, lust and Satan are the same sins that put Jesus Christ to the cross.

Just think about that for a moment.

I too have had trouble with secular music as well but I stopped when I realized that this type of music does not glorify Jesus who died for me out of love, but instead glorified sin that Jesus hates. And he hates it because in the end it not only hurts him but it hurts us.

Your grama loves you, her comment may hurt you yes and I understand that but your going to wrong way. Pray to lord ask him for help, even if its uncomfortable to ask, he will answer your prayer. He promises.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; Ephesians 5:11

Answer #12

After all this time…I’ve finally dropped religon…..Ur right! :D

Answer #13

smart choice. its really simple. i mean, lets look to christianity,

bible claims:God sees everything that means he has to be everywhere therefore he’d have to be the smallest subatomic particle there is Therefor, due to particle physics, he couldnt be intelligent therefor he isnt omniscient therefor he isnt omnipotent therefor, not a god
