Can I major in dance with gymastics experience and not dance?

Ok now. I’m 15. I want to be a dance choreographer. But I’m in gymnastics and I either have to pick that or hip hop class. So I want to stay in gymnastics so I can do flips and what not. Anyways getting back to what I want to ask.

Since you have to have a education to be a dance choreographer. I want to go to the university of south florida. Now I was just going to go on with gymnastics and then go to college and major in dance for a bachelors degree. Can I do that with no dance experince

Yeah, just take beginners dance. Gymnastics can be very helpful when it comes to dance. If you are able to take a dance class later on I recommend ballet over hip hop. Ballet may not sound fun but it is one of the most important styles of dance. Most professional dancers have a ballet back round

no u cant u have to be a dancer to major in dance yes gymanastics will help in dance but it takes a lot more then just that
