What are some good ways to get gigs for your band to play at?

You can try to make flyers and spread them around telling how awesome your band is and what kind of music you guys play and stuff, you can also make a mini concert like in you garage and spread the word for people to come see you, that way they can get an idea of who you are and how good you are. Take every chance as it comes as well, even if you think its a lame one, that will help you even a little.

You have to get your name out there any way you can. Do open mic nights when you dont have a gig, make cds and pass them out to all the local bars, coffee shops, and hangouts, make a facebook and myspace for your band, advertise on craigslist and in your local newspaper, etc.

Do what mandy says, she’s right. My boyfriend plays with a band on the side, he does it at a local bowling alley in the lounge area. I would call local places, not high end but something like a bowling alley or bar.
