If i dye my hair without doing a tester what's the worst that can happen? I mean they tell you you should always do the tester but they also say use the product as soon as its opened...so its a waste of product and money....why don't they make little tester sachets or anything? it's useless
so really what's the worst that can happen without doing a tester?????
If it is your first time dying your hair, you should test.
If it is a drastic color change, especially lightening (like black to blonde) You definetly need to test.
I have been dying my hair almost 15 years. You have to be aware that if you dye your hair, ESPECIALLY if it a major change, it may not come out the way you wanted it and you may have to correct it. When I was younger I tried to lighten my hair and it came out pink. Ya know, these things happen (not to me anymore though!). Say if you try to change from a reddish brown to a light blonde. That red in your hair can turn your hair orangey if you do not pick the appropriate shade. Ash colors help cut the red. There is also products at places like Sally's that can neutralize certain color problems like that. Send me a message if you need more specific help.
Hi kimmi000,
Well, it depends on your definition of "worst". To me, the worst thing is an allergic reaction. If you are allergic to something in the dye and you don't know it, and do your entire head, before you know it....you could be very uncomfortable and have a very itchy and red scalp. Another thing that could happen is the color could be drastically different then you expect. If you are expecting brown, it could turn out black --and you'd probably rather know that sooner than later.
Good luck.
