What does "veteran status" mean?

i think a person who doesnt eat non veg or any product of it eg milk curd (they are derived from cow) and stuff like that.

It means that the person was previously in the armed forces and they left the military are now a civilian and a veteran. Some veteran status could be honorable discharge when the person behaves well in the military or dishonorable when they get kicked out for causing trouble and breaking the law.

Elmo is almost right, except that one veteran status is non-veteran (and therefore ineligible for veterans’ benefits).
