I've been getting discharge for 5 weeks now, what do I do?

Last month, I missed my period and started getting a dark red/brown discharge instead. It’s been going on for 5 weeks now, and I told my doctor, who said that it’s just an imbalance and it will regulate itself. Still, I feel really angry that every time I pee, blood and brown stuff comes out. If anyone has ever dealt with this, how long does it usually last? And should I be concerned, despite my doctor’s reassurance that it’s “normal”?

Yuck. I’d say go with what your doctor said and try to deal with it another week. If the problem isn’t getting better, make an appointment to see the doctor and let them check it out. If your gonna have one, it should be about time to start your period again right? If you don’t then you need to see the doctor anyway.

What’s different in your lifestyle? Have you just recently started taking a new birth control? Just ask your doc/Gyno what exactly is causing the imbalance. Our female bodies are weird and they do weird stuff all the time :p it’s probably normal.
