Modeling digital amps are pretty neat. They can be set to sound like different historic tube amps and allow you to get a range of sounds. If you are playing a Beatles tune set it to sound like a classic VOX but if you are playing Hendrix set it to sound like an over-driven Marshal.
There is a certain cool factor to tube amps; I used to work on them. Unless you are a professional who can afford a lot of equipment I’d go with a digital modeling amp.
