My nephew Caine is 4 years old. He enjoys drawing/painting (under supervision in case he draws on the walls), watching films/cartoons and playing games. Also there are activities that people can do with children, whether it’s craft-making or cooking (something simple like cornflake buns, etc.). If you don’t mind outdoor activities you could play with bubbles, play football (or another easy sport), frisbee or let the kids play with water (with water pistols/water balloons). Another idea would be to get a cheap games console for the kids to amuse themselves with. My nephew Cody who is 8 got his first Playstation just as he was turning 5. You can get loads of games that will keep the kids quiet. The cheapest one I know of is the Playstation 1. Although you can’t get it brand new in the shops you can find them very cheap on ebay (£15 approx.) There are hundreds of different games that are just as cheap as the console. I hope some of this is helpful. =o)

LEGOS! play with legos! (big mega blocks cause the kids are little… don’t want them to eat the legos.) you want the time they spend with you to be special so they like it when you’re around. You guys could bake cookies together, and let them lick the spoon.

The big thing that I’ve learned over the years of babysitting is to let them do what they want as far as play goes. they both won’t want to do the same thing all the time, and little kids have very short attention spans. You don’ t have to be very creative… but have a couple activities (balls, crayons, and cartoons etc.) set up and let them do what they want. just keep it all in the same room so you can watch them easily. It really doesn’t have to be your job to entertain, but your job to make sure they don’t get hurt.

my cousin is 6 and he still has tons of fun playing on my exercise ball. He also throws a tennis ball around and pretends to be a puppy. Pretend is a fun game to play.

Balloons…They can play forever with them. Also my kids play making bubbles…Such cheap play time and they love it so much.
