Is it true that in the state of Florida it's illegal to buy cigarettes under 18, but it's not illegal to smoke them?

You can not POSSESS or PURCHASE tobacco products, but you can use them, if you are under 18. So, if you get caught, you have to say it’s somebody else’s. I live in florida and tons of my friends smoke them, your just not suppose to have a pack of them or anything if a cop searches you.

But if you have the cigarettes in your hand isn’t it then in your possession, therefore illegal :P.
